As the founder and managing partner of Klersy Law, P.C., Jessica M. Klersy has dedicated her legal career to advocating for the elderly and individuals with special needs. Her commitment is profoundly personal, shaped by her own experiences with adversity. After losing her hearing at seventeen, she encountered significant discrimination and institutional resistance while seeking the accommodations she was legally entitled to. While she successfully fought for her own rights, she also witnessed close family members with disabilities struggle without a voice when they were mistreated. This experience fueled her resolve to enter the legal profession and become the advocate so many people need.

Jessica’s focus was clear even during her academic pursuits. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in May 2017. She was one of only four students selected for the prestigious 2017 Pro Bono Scholar Program, an honor that allowed her to take and pass the New York State Bar exam during her final semester. She was admitted to the Bar in June 2017. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Therapeutic Recreation from St. Joseph’s College.

Her time in the Touro Law Center’s Elder Law Clinic solidified her career path. There, she assisted elderly clients, some without family support, with various legal matters. She drafted essential guardianship documents, advocated for their rights, and ensured the protection of their assets. This work merged her passion for advocacy with the practical skills of elder law, a combination that remains central to her practice today.

With nine years in the legal field, Jessica now focuses her practice on estate planning, elder law, and special needs planning. She works closely with the courts on guardianship matters and possesses extensive knowledge of third-party supplemental needs trusts, which are designed to protect assets for individuals with disabilities. Jessica understands the devastating consequences families can face when a loved one becomes incapacitated or passes away without a will, trust, or proper advanced directives. Her work is centered on preventing these outcomes by creating thoughtfully drafted estate plans that prepare her clients for the unexpected.

Jessica is known for her compassionate approach. She has a natural ability to explain complex legal concepts in plain language, empowering her clients to fully understand their individualized plans. At Klersy Law, P.C., she provides personal attention to every client, driven by a genuine passion and sense of care.

Her dedication has earned her numerous accolades. The New York State Bar Association awarded her the Honorable Joel K. Asarch Elder Law and Special Needs Section Scholarship, and she received an academic achievement scholarship from Touro Law Center. Furthermore, she is certified to serve on the Part 36 list for the New York State Supreme Court, allowing her to be appointed as a Court Evaluator, Attorney for the Alleged Incapacitated Person (AIP), or guardian in Suffolk, Nassau, and Queens Counties.

Beyond her practice, Jessica is an active member of the New York State Bar Association and an alumni member of the Phi Alpha Delta Fraternity-Touro Chapter. She is also authoring a book, set for release in early 2025, to provide valuable insights into estate planning for vulnerable populations. In her personal time, she enjoys creating personalized gifts for friends and family and spending time with her two young nephews.

Looking forward, Jessica plans to continue expanding Klersy Law, P.C., while upholding her commitment to providing accessible, high-quality legal services. Her goal is to empower clients to make informed decisions that protect their families, assets, and legacies.
